Is there a MyFitnessPal MCP server? Using MyFitnessPal with Claude and ChatGPT (2026)

No official MyFitnessPal MCP server exists, and its ChatGPT app doesn't log meals yet. What does work in Claude and ChatGPT today, checked October 14, 2026.

Short answer (checked October 14, 2026): MyFitnessPal hasn’t published an MCP server or a Claude connector, and its official ChatGPT app gives recipes and calorie and macro targets but doesn’t log meals to your diary yet. The MyFitnessPal “MCP servers” you’ll find are community projects: they work by signing in to the MyFitnessPal website as you, and they’re not supported by MyFitnessPal. If what you want is to log food by talking to Claude or ChatGPT, you need a food diary that offers its own MCP server. Forkmate is one, free, and it can import your MyFitnessPal history so you don’t start from zero.

What an MCP server would do for MyFitnessPal

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT reaches into another service: reading your data, or writing to it. A food diary with an MCP server lets you say “log two eggs and toast for breakfast” in a chat and have it saved, with calories and macros, to a diary you can open later.

That’s the thing most people searching “MyFitnessPal MCP” want: keep using the assistant they already talk to all day, and stop tapping through a food search for every meal.

Does MyFitnessPal have an official MCP server or Claude connector?

No. As of October 14, 2026 we couldn’t find an MCP server or Claude connector from MyFitnessPal itself. Its developer API isn’t taking new applicants either, so there’s no official way for a third party to build one.

What the MyFitnessPal ChatGPT app does

MyFitnessPal launched an app inside ChatGPT on January 7, 2026. According to MyFitnessPal’s announcement, it gives you:

  • Recipe ideas you can filter by diet, allergens, foods you dislike and cooking time, from MyFitnessPal’s recipe library.
  • A calorie target and macro split, after you tell it your goal, age, sex, height, weight and activity level.

What it doesn’t do is write to your food diary. The same announcement lists logging meals in natural language as something future versions “could” allow, and MyFitnessPal’s own post about the app says logging in ChatGPT isn’t available yet. If you want ChatGPT to keep your food log, this app isn’t that, as of this writing.

The unofficial MyFitnessPal MCP servers

Search GitHub or an MCP directory and you’ll find several community-built “MyFitnessPal MCP” servers. Some only read your diary; some can add entries. They have three things in common:

  1. None is from MyFitnessPal. With no public API, each one drives the MyFitnessPal website the way your browser does.
  2. They need your MyFitnessPal sign-in. Usually that’s your password in a config file, or a session cookie copied out of your browser. Whoever runs the server can act as you.
  3. They can stop working without warning. When MyFitnessPal changes its website, the server breaks until its maintainer fixes it.

They can be a reasonable weekend project if you’re comfortable reading the code before you hand over your login. They’re a poor fit if you want something that keeps working, or if you’d rather not share your password with software nobody supports.

What about Cronometer?

The same applies to Cronometer as of October 14, 2026: we found community MCP servers that sign in with your Cronometer account, and no official Cronometer connector for Claude or ChatGPT.

Log food from Claude or ChatGPT with Forkmate

Forkmate is a food diary built the other way round: the MCP server is the product, not an add-on. You connect it once, then tell your assistant what you ate. It saves each food with calories, protein, carbs and fat, and your daily totals are on a web page you can open any time.

Forkmate signs you in with its own account. It never asks for your MyFitnessPal password.

Bring your MyFitnessPal history with you

Switching doesn’t mean losing years of logs. Get your data out of MyFitnessPal with the free “Download My Data” request (how to export MyFitnessPal data without Premium), then drop the ZIP into Forkmate under Settings → Import from MyFitnessPal and paste the password MyFitnessPal messages you. The file is opened in your browser, you see the date range and meal count before anything is saved, and your calories and macros come across as you logged them.

Create your free Forkmate account, then see every way to import your MyFitnessPal history.
